The Thyne Challenge Shield was donated in 1933 by Mrs Margaret Reid (nee Thyne) wife of Mr Andrew Reid (who donated the CAS Athletics Challenge Cup).
The first CAS Swimming Championships was held in 1932. The events were held at each individual school swimming carnival. In 1933 the five schools came together on March 6 at the Manly Municipal Baths for the first combined swimming championships for all five schools.
In 1943 ( February 28 ) the CAS Swimming Carnival was held at Manly however no “competition” points were allocated. If points were allocated Cranbrook would have placed first.
