Congratulations to Knox Grammar School 1st XI – Winners of the Thomas Grimson Cup for 2024.

Soccer (Football) was first recognised as a CAS sport from 1973.  Since no official competition points were being awarded at the time to sports other than swimming and athletics there were no official winners until competition points were restored in 1989.

The Thomas Grimson Trophy was donated in 1990 and accepted as a perpetual trophy in 1991.  1990 was the inaugural year for competition points in CAS Soccer (Football).

The NSW Soccer Federation donated the Thomas Grimson OAM Cup as a perpetual trophy to the Associated Schools of NSW (CAS).  Mr Grimson was a life member of the Australian and NSW Soccer Federation. He served the code with distinction and placed great faith in the youth of this country.  Thomas Robertson Grimson was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in 1981 for services to the sport of soccer.
